We left a message on Saturday that our AC unit wasn’t operating, scheduled an appointment for Tuesday which wasn’t ideal as the failed unit was the master suite but understood because it was the weekend. The owner (Will) called that same day, asked if our schedule was open to inspect the unit later in the day. Will was courteous, inspected the AC unit and found it was a failed capacitor, 30 minutes later it was fixed and running perfectly. I highly recommend this company.

We moved to Phoenix 10 years ago and quickly learned that finding a quality HVAC company is a must. That can certainly be a challenge with so many of them around. I prefer to use family-owned and operated local small businesses whenever possible. Over the 10-year span we have used 3-4 different companies with various results. Some better than others, but none that I firmly said, “Yep, this is the one I will always use.”
That all changed yesterday when Will from State 48 Home Comfort LLC stopped by to service my AC. Not only is he a great individual, but he’s a rare find in the industry. He stands on principles and honesty—values sorely lacking amongst the make-a-quick-dollar, upsell-where-you-can, and get-it-done-ASAP world we live in today. Especially in the heating and air industry.
I contacted State 48 because my top condensation line was dripping outside. I knew that meant my overflow was running and the primary was likely clogged if not worse. The appointment scheduling online was very easy and efficient. That was a big plus. Will called me before the appointment time frame and informed me of his ETA. That was great. With 4 dogs and 3 kids, our house can be chaotic at times. Putting the dogs away to avoid someone ringing the doorbell is a must.
Will quickly diagnosed the problem and went over some recommendations with me. I could tell he was very detail-oriented and knowledgeable, but he was not looking to upsell me something I didn’t need. He was able to complete what he could, but parts were needed to complete the remainder of what we discussed—a new valve and some new lines I wanted to help prevent future issues and also add peace of mind. I’m confident had Will and his crew installed the new unit I got years ago, the improvements I made would have been standard protocol. Unfortunately, he didn’t, so the job was not done up to the standard he has. He does not cut corners but is also very price conscious in what he does. Will had to get on to something else, but he had Jacob come by with the parts and finish the job. Like Will, Jacob called with his ETA and was very friendly. He was able to wrap up the job in a reasonable time while still doing quality work. Both Will and Jacob are people I felt comfortable with being in my home and around my family. I got the invoice today and the price was very reasonable. No upsell or hidden charges. It detailed the work completed, parts used, and it was precisely what I had asked for.
If you’re looking for an AC company for a tune-up, service call, or even a new unit altogether, give Will and State 48 Home Comfort a try. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
